Spiritually Adopt

SPIRITUALLY ADOPT… Help someone take inventory and the next step spiritually.

After Jesus paid the penalty of sin on the cross and rose in victory over the power of sin, He instructed the disciples in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) to Go tell the world that their heavenly Father has invited them into a personal relationship by TRUSTING Jesus as THE final sacrifice for sin.

As we celebrate Easter next week, let’s not assume that our only responsibility is to pray and invite those not in a church.  Scripture tells us in Matthew 9:37-38, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."  We have a responsibility to "spiritually adopt."

Pray and ask God to guide you into who you need to "spiritually adopt."  Follow the Spirit's lead by intentionally engaging them in spiritual conversations / invite them to come to church / commit to pray for them daily by name / send them encouragement.  This is not something you even have to get their permission... in fact they may never know you are seeking God on their behalf.

The only way we can know where people around us stand in their relationship with Jesus Christ is to ask them and compare that to the Truth of God's Word. (Romans 10:9-10 / Ephesians 2:8-9)

Imagine the joy and celebration of investing and inviting someone close and seeing them make a public decision for Christ.

As God leads, consider committing to discover where they are spiritually by writing their initials in the comments.  "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."
