Passion Week Wednesday

Jesus exposes the hypocritical thinking of the religious leaders and they plot to kill Him before the Feast of Unleavened Bread.  The disciples still thought they were a part of a political revolution.

That evening, Jesus is anointed for burial by Mary.  (Matthew 26:6-13)  Mary loved much because Mary was loved much.  As she tried to grasp the love of Christ for her, she was overwhelmed and drawn to serve Him.  In the Old Testament, the High Priest was set apart and anointed with oil for service!  Jesus is our High Priest.

All of the disciples were indignant of this act because they did not understand it.  Judas, who had deceived everyone but Jesus, would soon reveal the true nature of his heart by taking advantage of the situation to betray Jesus... making a deal with the religious leaders.
