EASTER : Mardi Gras - Ash Wednesday - Lenten Season

EASTER : Christians celebrate Easter as the resurrection of Christ on the third day after His crucifixion. It is the oldest Christian holiday and the most important day of the church year because of the significance of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the events upon which Christianity is based (1 Corinthians 15:3-4,14). The four Gospels make it clear that Jesus was crucified in conjunction with the Jewish Passover (Matthew 26:17-19; Mark 14:12-16; Luke 22:7-15; John 18:28,39; 1...  Read More...

Hungry for God's Presence

We are capable of harnessing great amounts of human resources to carry out impressive programs, undertake important initiatives, and maintain positive momentums; yet, we cannot force something of divine origin or implementation.

Hungering for God's Presence requires constantly positioning ourselves for the Spirit of God to do within us and through us all that He came to do.  Personal and corporate time in the Word, prayer, and worship (music / Bible / small groups) are essential!  This is a daily, ongoing process, not an event.  The Bible refers to this lifestyle as LIVING by FAITH.

It is not just recognizing that, "All things are created by Him and for Him" (Colossians 1:16), but continually submitting every area of my life "as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." (Romans 12:1-2)

To LIVE by FAITH... with my identity... trust what God says about me over what I feel.

To LIVE by FAITH... with my relationships... trust in a Biblical model of friendship, God's timing, and His provision instead of following the rules that our society says is acceptable.

To LIVE by FAITH... with my finances... give / save / live and trust that God is my provider

To LIVE by FAITH... when I am surrounding by those who are NOT pursuing God... trust in God's provision, timing, and justice.

To LIVE by FAITH in  ________________, trust God _______________.

If God is not at the center of the initiative, then why would you want to invest your energies and resources in it anyway... much less have it succeed?

John Wesley said...

"I value all things only by the price they shall gain in eternity."
