EASTER : Mardi Gras - Ash Wednesday - Lenten Season

EASTER : Christians celebrate Easter as the resurrection of Christ on the third day after His crucifixion. It is the oldest Christian holiday and the most important day of the church year because of the significance of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the events upon which Christianity is based (1 Corinthians 15:3-4,14). The four Gospels make it clear that Jesus was crucified in conjunction with the Jewish Passover (Matthew 26:17-19; Mark 14:12-16; Luke 22:7-15; John 18:28,39; 1...  Read More...

Freedom Redefined

"Freedom is perhaps the most resonant, deeply held American value. In some ways, it defines the good in both personal and political life. Yet freedom turns out to mean being left alone by others, not having other people’s values, ideas, or styles of life forced upon one, being free of arbitrary authority in work, family, and political life.”  ~ Habits of the Heart: Individualism and Commitment in American Life © 2004 by sociologists Bellah, Madsen, Sullivan, Swidler, & Tipton

How do you define freedom and when in your life have you felt most free?

What limits your freedom and what can you do to live like you were created?

Freedom to me is not being bound. Things we tend to get involved with in our lives can turn to bondage if we let it. However just because you are free doesn't mean you don't have boundaries. You.still have to "drive in your lane". Freedom doesn't give people the right to step on people and disregard them due to their "freedom of the speech". True freedom comes only from God. This freedom comes as part of the free gift God gave to us, Jesus. Sometimes it is a process and isn't instantaneous. Don't give up! God calls us to come as we are not change then come.

What limits my freedom - my own selfish desires. When my carnal self tres to take over, it leads me back to bondage. The most free I have ever been is the I turned WHOLE life over to God and quit trying to do things on my own.
