  • EASTER and Mardi Gras - Ash Wednesday - Lenten Season

EASTER : Christians celebrate Easter as the resurrection of Christ on the third day after His crucifixion. It is the oldest Christian holiday and the most important day of the church year because of the significance of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the events upon which Christianity is based (1 Corinthians 15:3-4,14). The four Gospels make it clear that Jesus was crucified in conjunction with the Jewish Passover (Matthew 26:17-19; Mark 14:12-16; Luke 22:7-15; John 18:28,39; 1...  Read More...

Do for One

Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone.  Look and listen for a Holy Nudge to SERVE others. Because if we all did for one what we wish we could do for everyone, it might start a wave that could change the world.  It would certainly change one person’s world… maybe even changing your world.

Please share a slice of this in action from your world to encourage others!

I have just recently been put on "nights" permanently. There are 2 male CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistants)...We'll call them J and T. J plays the drums and is very adamant about his faith. Believes that the Bible is indeed the inherent Word of God and is the blueprint for life.

T, after having conversation about church and God with J, came to me and said, "Ok...If I'm gonna read the Bible...where should I start, and don't say "the beginning"". "All I have to read is the King James version, but I have a kindle and would like to be able to read it and understand what I'm reading."

So I got on www.biblegateway.com and showed him the different versions...explained the difference between them (literal versus figurative) showed him how to put multiple versions on the screen at the same time, and then print them off to read (much like a parallel Bible).

I started him off with the Gospel according to Luke...since the good doctor is considered very historically accurate and also wrote the next book, the book of Acts. Yeah I know that most people prefer the Gospel according to John, but I felt led to bring him to Luke.

T is an interesting fellow. He constantly jokes and displays himself to patients as goofy, lighthearted, and anything but serious (although he takes care of business and works exceedingly hard). But when you engage T about anything he asks, it is amazing to me how serious and engaged he becomes. Although he is much older than me, when I spoke about the Word of God he became very serious...almost reverent in listening.

The fields are white for harvest...and the recognizable right time to turn on the plow...is almost never expected. Sometimes...SOMETIMES...the people you least expect...are lying in wait of the only thing that really matters. Jesus.

"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”" - Romans 10:14-15
