Day 5 Seeing Life from God's View

Loaded statements... "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are."  "The way you see your life shapes your life."  These force me to zoom out and examine my core motivation.  It's easy to identify the God-influenced responses to life, but I am mostly blind to the selfish responses that prefer to go unnoticed in the shadows.

The Apostle Paul communicates this struggle in Romans 7:21-25, "Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

My perspective needs constant recalibration by the Spirit.

"God tests my faith through problems, my hope by how I handle possessions, and tests my love through people."
