"The first to plead his case seems right, Until another comes and examines him." - Proverbs 18:17

A liar can make their story sound so sweet...until it's put next to the truth. Make sure you hear both sides of the story.

"He who gives an answer before he hears, It is folly and shame to him." - Proverbs 18:13

Proverbs 19 (8)Whoever gets sense loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will discover good. (11)Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense. (21)Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. (23)The fear of the LORD leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm.

Proverbs 20 Wisdom... Avoid engaging in conversations that you know are not going to be productive. (James 1:19) Lord, help me to be "a man of understanding" that draws out the purposes of other's heart.

Proverbs 21:1-2, "Good leadership is a channel of water controlled by God; he directs it to whatever ends he chooses. We justify our actions by appearances; God examines our motives."

Proverbs 22:3, "A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it."

God, I ask for Your wisdom to discern the decisions ahead (small and big alike) that I may make wise choices with my words and actions that would build on Your glory... accomplish Your plans and purposes... and allow me to be a clearer reflection of You to others.

Proverbs 23:12, "Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge."

Lord, give me a heart to know You more today. Bring to mind anything that needs to be unearthed in my heart (Psalm 139:23-24) and fill every part of me with Your presence (John 7:38). I bow to You as King. Equip me to serve others in my path and boldly make Your Name famous in my words and actions. I pray for my neighbors. I pray for fresh opportunities to encourage others toward the next step spiritually. May hearts readily respond to Your love. In Jesus Name
