Word I want to be said of me:

1)Listener – because it’s humble and submission
2)Selfless – because it’s not holding on to anything in this world
3)Trustworthy – a sense of peace that come with knowing I am on your side, there are no worries or concern of being let down

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and power to do what pleases Him.” - Philippians 2:13

- “God is” – He is, He always was, and He always will be. He’s been everywhere you’ve been. ‘There’s nothing new under the sun’ (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
- “working” – it’s a process, on-going. He’s working from the inside out to transform
- “giving” – gives me desire…actually provides me with the “want to” (Jehovah Jireh), then gives me the ability to do it.
- Works “in” me – God is medicine for the body, soul, & mind (Jehovah Rophe)
- “working”…works…what God says actually works

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. – Philippians 1:6

- “confident” = being sure, being very sure
- God started a “good work” in you. So He started something great. We are His “workmanship” (Ephesians 2:10). You are good! So be good!
- “began”… “carry it on”… “completion” He is the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2)…In other words, He shakes us, He bakes us, and then He puts the icing on the cake!
- “carry it on” - It is His strength, His holiness, His “work” that produces much fruit! (Zechariah 4:6)
- “who began” - remember the “who” who began you
- “will” – absolute, no doubt, done, promised, it’s gonna happen, money!, swish, and THAT’S THE GAME FOLKS!
- “UNTIL the day of Christ Jesus” (the word UNTIL is in all CAPS for emphasis by me, rest of the words added for context) – means we are never to be satisfied, never quit growing, never be unteachable, never quit pursuing, never quit TRUSTING, never quit being “living sacrifices” UNTIL Jesus is BACK!!!
